Rowing boat repair again!

Over the last few weeks I have been repairing a FISA quad which is rowed in the Offshore Rowing category under Rowing Ireland.  It had received a few hits on the GRP fin which had transferred to the fin box and surrounding hull.  Sanding back the gelcoat revealed a ‘quick’ repair.  I decided to apply decreasing layers of fibreglass matt to dissipate the load around the hull before gelcoating and then polishing the whole hull.

Before
Exposed repair, a couple of holes and uneven thickness
Built up with 2 layers of chopped strand mat
Sanded and flo-coated
Sanded and polished.
